Sony Online Shuttering Four Games, Adding All-In-One Sub

Sony Online Entertainment announced today that it will be dropping four of of its MMOs in the next six months, per TTH. Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures and Free Realms will go down on March 31, and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and Wizardry Online will turn off the lights on July 31. Sony had previously stated that Magic: The Gathering – Tactics would go offline on March 28.

But it’s not all bad news today. SOE also announced that at the beginning of April all memberships for SOE games on the PC (which are free-to-play) will become all-in-one entities that gives membership bonuses to all the others, meaning these titles: EverQuest, EverQuest II, DC Universe Online PC, PlanetSide 2 PC, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, and EverQuest Next and EQN Landmark whenever those arrive.

However, the console versions of DCUO are not a part of the all-in-one pass, and neither will Planetside 2 be when it hits PS4. So that’s disappointing, probably, but #PCmasterrace and all that Roll Tide.

This is cool. I”ll get to check out Landmark before my sub expires. I’m not getting my hopes up but the idea of a new EQ game with an infusion of Minecraftiness does seem like a potential monster.
