Sony has been pledging for quite some time now that they were not ready to give up on UMD, and the main reason that the format has sold poorly was because the content released on it was not what the PSP’s demographic wanted, was too pricey, or both. In an effort to begin changing things around, Sony has announced that it will distribute 10 MTV UMD titles for $15 a pop.
These will include shows such as Jackass, Beavis and Butt-Head, Aeon Flux, Wildboyz, and Viva La Bam.
Personally, the only one of these shows that I’m at all interested in is Beavis and Butt-Head; the rest of it unfortunately falls into that area of things I classify as “garbage on MTV that I don’t want to watch,” which is, ironically, virtually everything they air.
What do you want to see brought to UMD, PSP owners? I think we can agree that, in an ideal world, there would be content available that you could download to your memory stick, but what content do you want? I’d love to see The X-Files or Reno 911, and since the latter is on Comedy Central (owned by Viacom – hello MTV), it doesn’t seem like a stretch.

It’s unfortunate that UMD never real took off.
