South Korea May Be Holding Back Diablo 3′s Release

The South Korean ratings board continues to delay a final approval decision on Diablo 3, and the game‘s real money auction house feature is to blame.

A spokesman for the ratings board said:

Committee members are conflicted about what to do with Diablo 3 because of Blizzard’s information on the game’s “auction house” feature.

Blizzard publicly committed to a simultaneous global, region-free launch for the first time in company history. In light of the Korean board’s hesitation, a spokeswoman for Blizzard affirmed that the company is still committed to a global release for Diablo 3.

With the first quarter of 2012 still the target launch period for the title, Blizzard has as rapidly closing three month window to meet their shareholders’ expectations.

Could the Korean ratings board be partially responsible for the delay in an announced launch date for Diablo 3?

I really hope it gets banned in korea just for the stupid RM (real money) auction house.

If nothing else just to teach blizzard that this kind of stupid crap is and should not be acceptable not now and not ever.

The real money auction house is a pretty dumb idea.

The auction house is a GREAT idea. Because if any of you have actually played the games, you would know that bots spammed the whole screen for half of the game time you were on there trying to get you to buy from their website. Also, people would spend a ridiculous amount of money from these websites only to either get ripped lose their money, or not get what they payed for.

I do remember those annoying spambots. Bleck. In a way, the Auction House is a necessarily evil.

Don’t really care about Diablo anymore, only opened this hoping for news they would ban it.

Cartoon (WoW) theme, BS internet requirement, money grubbing auction house. Diablo can burn in hell.
