Ubisoft Details Splinter Cell: Blacklist Spies vs. Mercs Mode (Video)

Ubisoft has put together a new trailer for the upcoming spy hunter Splinter Cell: Blacklist, this time with a focus on the game’s multiplayer Spies vs. Mercs mode.

The mode is made up of two main modes, including classic 2v2 and a new 4v4 match-up. Anyone who’s played Pandora Tomorrow or Chaos Theory will be familiar with the mode. For those who aren’t, the rules are simple: one side takes the role of computer-hacking Spies, stealth units who play in third-person view. The other side consists of the Mercenaries, or Mercs for short, who have the advantage of playing the game in first person mode and come with loads of firepower.

The new 4v4 mode is called Spies vs Mercs: Blacklist, and offers more complex customization and team dynamics that go beyond a cat and mouse chase. Watch the video below to see how it plays.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is due for release on August 20.
