Splinter Cell Blacklist Offers Three Ways to Play

Ubisoft has released a new trailer of Splinter Cell Blacklist, showcasing the different ways of playing the game. How Sam Fisher approaches his missions is up to you, the player, and you can do so through three ways: as an undetectable Ghost, a silent-but-deadly Panther, or abandon all pretence of stealth with Assault mode.

As a Ghost, you will hide in the shadows and adopt the traditional approach of Splinter Cell. Playing as a Ghost means remaining hidden at all times, and not alerting the enemy to your presence. Being a Ghost offers Sam a non-lethal option with his takedowns, and provides Sam with the ability to distract his enemies with the aid of drones and gadgets. With the slow, methodical pace of a Ghost, players can complete a level without ever killing.

Assault abandons stealth and allows players go in guns blazing. Provided that they leave no witnesses, Assault mode allows players to play the game like a shooter.

Panther mode turns Sam into a lethal predator, who dispatches his enemies quickly and quietly, striking a balance between Assault and Ghost. Sam can mark his enemies and take them out with a silenced pistol or with a knife.

Blacklist is set for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U on August 28.
