GSC Game World, the developer’s of the popular S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, recently made some comments that they have been considering releasing games on home consoles. The studio is traditionally PC-focused, as is the country they’re based in, Russia (need some proof? Check out the in-game world map of Halo 3 players and see how many dots are in that area). However, that hasn’t stopped them from noticing the buzz surrounding consoles overseas. GSC project manager, Anton Bolshakov, said in an interview:
“PC game development is very traditional for ex-USSR and over 90 percent of gamers here play on PCs. However, we are pretty aware of the tendencies in the markets internationally and have been considering console development for a while.”
The studio hasn’t made any announcements yet on any console projects, but it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to think that their successful S.T.A.L.K.E.R. could possibly be in for a console port.
