Star Citizen Shoots Past $30 M, No Signs of Slowing Down

These updates never get old, and they never cease to leave me with a slack jaw: Chris Roberts‘ crowdfunded juggernaut, Star Citizen, crossed the $30 million mark over the weekend and it’s already rapidly approaching $31 million.

Look at my face right now. Jaw: slack.

Just six days ago, we marveled at Star Citizen reaching $28 million and 300,000 backers. Three days later, on November 22, it was time to celebrate $29 million (as well as an expanded single-player campaign for Squadron 42). A day later, $30 million. And if the money continues to pour in at this rate, $31 million will be eclipsed in under 24 hours. That’s $3 million in a week for a crowdfunded game that launched it’s campaign just over a year ago. Amazing.

And don’t forget, from here on out, the Cloud Imperium Games team wants your input on what to do with any additional funds raised. Cast your vote for a specific type of new ship on the official Star Citizen site.

One more thing: backers will get their first real taste of Star Citizen in action soon. The dog fighting module is on schedule for launch in December, and after a year of news and hype, I can’t wait to jump into the cockpit. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear an official release date.

Nice Article! Still, do not post aboiút some game exceeding the 30 millions on the same day it passed the 31 mil.
