Star Citizen In-Engine Trailer Asks Gamers to “Imagine”
Cloud Imperium has released a new trailer for Star Citizen featuring all in-engine footage.
The trailer, originally put out by the developer earlier this month, is entitled “Imagine” and delivers a three minute showcase of the game focusing primarily on all of the many options it will offer players when it’s finally completed.
While the trailer made a point of trying to emphasize the openness of the game’s universe, it’s perhaps worth noting that a lot what was shown involved a lot of straightforward (but shiny) looking FPS and space simulation combat. Granted, the trailer was also clearly trying to be somewhat cinematic, something that’d arguably be a bit harder to do with footage of spaceships peacefully hauling cargo through the stars.
Regardless, the footage itself was nice looking, giving us the definite impression that Chris Roberts and Cloud Imperium aren’t wasting the piles of money that crowdfunders have thrown at the game. Time will have to tell, of course, how it all turns out, but these kinds of trailers definitely help to keep us interested in its progress.

Problem with SC is they are great at theatre, but the game so far is nothing like they say it is on the stage. They should just make a movie and be done with the game, the stage at the moment is money money money and more money. please!!
More sir! more sir..
SC are the biggest Beggars on the internet..

Do you understand how game development works? ‘The game so far’ to which you have just referred, ISN’T even in the ALPHA stage yet. Quite frankly, what we’re seeing from the game at this stage (and the openness of the development process) is far beyond anything you will see from any other developer.
Why on earth would they stop selling the ships they are selling when people clearly want to buy them? That’s like Walmart simply closing up at 6pm after deciding they’ve made enough money for the day. Seriously, think about it for a second
They have stated many, many times that this game will be released in 2016, and will continue to be developed and expanded from then on by a staff now numbering over 160 (which is great for the gaming economy). Not once have they failed to deliver on anything. Why not? Because nothing has been delivered!!
While we’re at it, why don’t we demand that Disney release the new Star Wars movie now?? I mean, they released an 88 second trailer, so it must be finished and ready, right??
LOGIC = FAIL.
