Star Trek Online Prod Sez It’s ‘Kicking Butt’

You might think that MMOs are a wounded beast, industry-wise. You might also think that Star Trek, being a somewhat exhausted Franchise, would make for a difficult success in MMO format. You would, apparently, be wrong, at least according to Star Trek Online Producer Daniel Stahl. Over on the official site, while acknowledging the challenges facing MMOs of late, he crows that STO is doing rather well.

“When you consider what it takes to run an MMO in today’s highly competitive marketplace, STO has been kicking some butt. Despite what some may think, we have a deliberate path and long-term goals that we’ve been tracking quite well against. STO has not only survived, but is thriving at a time when many MMOs have kicked or are about to kick the bucket.”

I could make a big post explaining why I feel the way that I feel, but the truth of the matter is that just don’t care for this game at all anymore. I can’t be bothered with it putting any effort in.

What started out as a promising game, turned into something horrible, and something quite frankly not Star Trek franchise worthy.

Ive played STO and I have to say its alot more fun than you think itll be. Ground combat can be hit or miss at times, but its the space combat that makes this game worth playing. Its been several months since Ive played last, but if Daniel Stahl says its doing well, then I believe him.
