Star Wars: The Clone Wars Will Bring Lightsaber Dueling to the Wii and DS
I think I can speak for a lot of gamers out there, when I say, “It’s about damn time.” LucasArts has revealed that they have two titles in the works based on the upcoming animated feature film, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, for the Nintendo DS and Wii. The Wii game will be sub-titled “Lightsaber Duels” and will allow players to use the console’s motion-sensing controls to wield a lightsaber in combat — something fans have been wanting ever since the Wii was first shown off. The DS game will be sub-titled “Jedi Alliance” and will have you controlling two Jedi at once, while using the stylus for movement and combat.
“Working on The Clone Wars chapter of the Star Wars Saga has been an exciting endeavor for everyone here at LucasArts,” said Feargus Carroll, project lead for LucasArts Singapore.“The intuitive and accessible gameplay on both the Wii and the Nintendo DS complement one of the most exciting Star Wars adventures yet.”
Both games are due out this holiday season, and the first trailers for the games will premiere on Spike TV this Friday. *Sigh* As if I needed another reason to be disappointed that LucasArts was dropping out of E3.
