StarCraft 2 Pro Player Jaedong Joins Evil Geniuses

North American pro gaming team Evil Geniuses has acquired Lee “Jaedong” Jae Dong, one of the world’s best StarCraft: Brood War players to add to their StarCraft 2 roster.

Jaedong is relatively new to SC2, with his first official match taking place during the hybrid 2011-2012 Proleague Season 2 and was recognized as the Most Valuable Player for the regular season. Allegedly, he will remain on EG’s roster for at least one year, but ultimately return to Team Eight

Apparently Jaedong will stay with Evil Geniuses for one year and eventually return to Team Eight. Jaedong is slated to play for the EG-TL lineup in the Proleague, with his first appearance for his new team being on December 8.

Jaedong has picked up two Korean nicknames during his career, which translate to “The Tyrant” and “The God of Destruction,” as a reflection of his hyper-aggressive play style that set him apart from other Zerg players.

To celebrate the team’s newest addition, the Evil Geniuses website sports an impressive splash page featuring The Tyrant, accompanied by suitably epic percussion.

You can download Jaedong’s wallpaper from Game Front right here.

This eSports announcement comes hot off the back of grim news in the scene: Quantic Gaming disbanded earlier this week.
