StarCraft 2 Pros Are Streaming for Charity

Two professional StarCraft 2 players, Destiny and Sheth, have been live streaming SC2 matches all day for charity. The players have been accepting donations, with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders. Justin.tv has allegedly agreed to match the highest of the two donation totals, a sum that is turning out to be surprisingly substantial.

At the time of this writing — 4:00 a.m., September 14th, with 6 more hours to go before this event ends — Sheth has received over $4200 in PayPal donations, while Destiny has amassed over $18,000. The streams currently have a combined 13,000 live viewers, which is quite a bit, given the time of day.

What am I doing up at this time? Following a rumor that the Diablo 3 closed beta would start around this time. It’s looking unlikely, but the possibility still exists that the beta will begin before the weekend. At the latest, we’re looking at the end of September.

Want to watch two exhausted Grandmaster Zerg players dazedly play StarCraft 2 while exchanging humorous banter in their sleep-deprived state?
