StarCraft II Copy Leaked, Opened, Beautiful

Almost a month early, at least one StarCraft 2 copy is loose.
StarCraft II copies are already sneaking into the hands of mouth-breathing nerds, at least overseas.
A video posted on the U.K. web site computerandvideogames.com shows…well, someone cracking open a Collector’s Edition copy of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, the Terran campaign of the three StarCraft II games – and then trying unsuccessfully to load it up.
The game isn’t slated to drop until July 28, but early copies could mean pirated versions appearing all over the Interweb.
And we all know what that means: another three years before Half-Life 2 comes out. Er, lower sales for Blizzard.
Video after the jump.

Lmao.
If you want to play before July 27th, all you have to do is change the date on your computer post July 27th under “Date and Time” found in control panel and away you go!

Changing the clock wouldn’t work. The game is going to require you to authenticate with the blizzard servers upon downloading. So you would need to find a way to overcome that as well.

haha…you’re kidding me right…the only way he can run that copy is if his BIOS is changed…AND AFTER he goes online…because Blizzard requires online confirmation…ur hilarious.

even if the game requires online connection with blizzard servers the crackers will just circumvent the safety protocols like they’ve been doing for years. There is no game no matter how secure that cant be cracked and manipulated, that goes with everything in the world not just games.

There’s no surefire way to protect against piracy, but Blizzard does a very good job of it. Besides the glory of Sc2 is multiplayer…Battle.net is the main draw of Starcraft. I guarantee Blizz will have massive sales regardless of how many pirated copies circulate. If anything, people will play the single player, and then want to acquire an actual copy.

Where is this jump you speak of? A jump requires a link to another page.

nobody’s cracked the beta yet, i doubt anyone will be cracking the full game anytime soon
you’re not playing the full version until july 27. the best you can do is rip the .mpq and upload them for people to play with.

lol?
Considering the beta was cracked days after it came out, you are incorrect.

nobody’s cracked the beta? I’ve been playing a cracked beta offline single player for about a month now. Today Blizzard implemented a new patch that prevents me from playing… for now.

Yes, offline beta. But no cracked beta that passes the authentication to play online. So therefore, you can crack the leaked copy for single player maybe if it didn’t have to authenticate through the blizzard servers.

No He is Not. This is all true. The only way for sc2 to work is to Activate it online. Or Call Blizzard for an offline activation key. and u know they wont give one of thoes out be4 the 27th.
