As Gaming Today reported earlier this month, Cheyenne Mountain has been having trouble meeting its payroll. According to the http://www.days-since-cheyenne-mountain-employees-have-been-paid.com the devs have gone 34 days since their last paycheck.
I hate to think that offering Stargate Worlds gear is part of a last ditch effort to fund an MMO that is almost complete, but has run out of financial backing. It would be a shame to never see Stargate Worlds online.
