Steam Autumn & Holiday Sales Dates Leaked (RUMOR)

The dates for Valve’s upcoming Steam autumn and holiday sales have been allegedly leaked, according to screenshots and claims posted on Reddit.

The screenshot, purportedly taken by an anonymous Russian developer with a Greenlit game on Steam, captures an email communique from Steam to the developer and provides the specific dates for Valve’s two next big sales. Click to view the screenshot.

“Confidential: The Steam Autumn Sale will run from Wednesday, Nov 27 until Tuesday, Dec 3. The Steam Holiday Sale will run form Thursday, December 19 until Thursday, January 2nd. Please DO NOT make the dates of the Sales public. [...] Because the two sales occur just a few weeks apart, we plan to maintain the same discounts from one sale to another.”

While there is no concrete evidence to substantiate these claims, the inconsistency in the dating schemes in the quote does strike me as odd. Reddit user MrFreemanBBQ, who claims to be the chief editor of the Steam public page on, says the screenshot is not a fake and that Valve is investigating the leak.

I just hope they put more Triple A games up for sale than they did the last few years. I like me some indie games, but i also like big explosions too.
