Steam Goes Nostalgic, Lets You Play Sega On Your Computer

Anybody else here get nostalgic for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive? I can only assume I’m not the only one, since the week I got Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection last year was the only time my Xbox has ever been the center of attention during a party.

Well, it looks like all you PC and Mac users who have missed out on the nostalgic fun of the various console Genesis Collections over the years will get your fill soon enough; Sega will beĀ releasing a number of classic and just alright Genesis titles on Steam for the low, low price of $2.99 each. You’ll be able to grab titles like Comix Zone and Ecco the Dolphin (a title I still revisit on Game Gear), among others. The rollout begins June 1 and continues, well, forever, I guess. The list after the jump.

Here is the initial group of titles that has been posted on Sega’s site.

  • Altered Beast
  • Comix Zone
  • Crack Down
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Gain Ground
  • Golden Axe
  • Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
  • Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
  • Sonic 3D Blast
  • Space Harrier II
  • VectorMan
