Steam Holiday Sale Doubles Income For Q-Games’ PixelJunk Eden

Steam sales, particularly ones attached to holidays, are the best times to buy awesome PC games on the cheap. And the best part about such sales? Developers can benefit just as much from deep discounts, which is exactly what happened to Q-Games and PixelJunk Eden this week.

Part of Steam’s Holiday 2013 Sale, Q-Games put PixelJunk Eden out for $1 as opposed to the usual $9.99. A 90 percent discount? Madness! Heresy! But not really.

According to tweets by Q-Games President Dylan Cuthbert, PixelJunk Eden’s total Steam-related income (since it went on sale in February 2012) was doubled when the title went on sale.

Doubling income after taking a 90 percent cut on revenue? Inconceivable! But that’s how it works once a game leaves its launch window.

Are you playing PixelJunk Eden? Did you grab it in the aforementioned Steam sale? Let us know if it was worth the $10 or $1 you paid.
