Steam Mobile App Now Open to Everybody

Last week, Valve released a mobile app version of Steam for smartphones and tablets running Apple’s iOS platform and Google’s Android operating system. At the outset, though, the app was only available in beta and while anyone could download it, you could only link it to your Steam account if you received an invite.

That changes today, with the Steam app opening to all Steam users. It has some pretty robust functionality, too — you can search through the games catalog, read news, see what’s got a featured price cut and see what your friends are doing and chat with them. Basically, Steam Mobile lets you do everything but play Steam games on your phone or tablet.

Enough talk: download Steam Mobile for iPhone and iPad here, and for Android here.
