Steam Up To 75 Million Users

Last week at CES, somebody asked Gabe Newell about Steam Machines competing with the new consoles, which had historically spectacular launches in November. Gabe responded with a crack about having 65 million customers already. That number was way old, apparently, as word got out of Steam Dev Days in Seattle that Steam is up to 75 million registered users. The previous number was established in Ovtober, so a leap of 13 percent in the intervening period is quite notable.

It’s impossible to say what that means for Steam Machines, really, but that number does describe a rather shocking trajectory for Steam as a platform. 65 million users was a 30 percent (which is 20 million or so users) jump over the previous calendar year, so obviously 10 million in three months is even more significant with context. But is PC gaming dead, though?

its October not Ovtober, even spellcheck should have caught that. lol (It did on my mine)

regardless PC Gaming is still alive and kicking and is doing quite well, and with next-gen consoles being x86 now, I think it will bolster PC Gaming even more.
