Street Fight HD Beta won't be Patched

If you’re one of the many poor souls that have been running into problems galore with the Street Fight HD beta, you’re pretty much out of luck — Capcom doesn’t have any plans to release any patches to address the issues. Because it’s, y’know, a beta.

“We wil[l] not be patching the beta. Resubmissions would cost a fortune and not go live for weeks,” said Capcom’s Christian Svensson. Microsoft needs to approve of each and every change that Capcom would make, meaning it’d take a very, very long time to get things ironed out.

For what it’s worth, Capcom will be working on all of the bug reports they’ve been getting for the full release. Svensson said, “All feedback and bugs will be factored into the final code.”

People are no doubt going to be very upset with the news, and understandably so. I know I’d have been angry if a beta I had been excited for — Halo 3, perhaps? — had serious bugs that weren’t going to be fixed. But that’s the nature of a beta, I suppose, and it’s certainly better for it to happen now than when you pay for the final game.

(Random thought — isn’t the screen above just the coolest looking thing ever?)

Well yeah thats the hole idea of a bloody beta people these days just get worse … A beta goes live for people to test the game and then submit feedback.

What kind of problems are people running into? I played it last night and the beta pretty much worked flawlessly, even though there was a bit of lag during gameplay. Overall it was a really good experience.
