SWTOR: Rise of the Hutt Cartel Launches April 14th

Expansion packs! We know them and (sometimes) love them. The first expansion for Star Wars: The Old RepublicRise of the Hutt Cartel – is dropping on April 14th, and it brings with it all the things you’ve probably come to expect from an MMO expansion: new level cap, new skills, new gear, new zones, and new frustrations. In short, a bunch of new content.

Of course, this new expansion isn’t free. Despite SWTOR shirking the subscription requirement and aiming for the lucrative free-to-play market, Rise of the Hutt Cartel will most definitely cost money. If you want to level up to 55 or get access to those fancy new zones and skills, you’ll have to shell out $20 ($10 if you’re an active subscriber). It’ll be interesting to see if this furthers the divide between the SWTOR haves and have-nots. Check out the expansion site for the full skinny on what you’ll be getting, and prepare your wallets for April 14th if you like what you see. If you want to see the developers talk about all their hard work while you wait, you can download both “Making Of” videos right here on GameFront.

Wait a second.

I spent 50 bucks on this game and got 17 planets, 9 races that all look human, 14 crew skills and all we are getting is 1 planet, no new races or crew skills for half the price.

This is not an expansion its more like a patch that supposed to be free.
