SWTOR Update 1.6 Focuses On ‘Heroic Missions’

It looks like the SWTOR development team is getting to work improving the game for fans who’ve stuck with it from the start (or lets be honest, from at least about 3 months ago). Explaining that the focus of Star Wars: The Old Republic “has always been to make the player feel like they were taking part in the much larger Star Wars struggle,” the developer blog today detailed the upcoming game update 1.6, which introduces new Heroic missions for rebel and imperial players starting from level 50.

Lead designer Michael Backus promised that these missions will be “repeatable, incredibly challenging, and reward players who enjoy the current Space Missions.” The missions are created with the “most skilled player” in mind, and are, so he says, very challenging for experience pilots. New ship upgrades will be made available as well, and rewards will be increased.

He also added “As we’ve stated in the past, quality of life is always one of our focuses for dedicated players in Star Wars: The Old Republic, so there will also be a number of improvements players can look forward to. For instance, a number of our missions will perform better on lower-end machines. We’ll also be adding one of our favorite changes: a missile and torpedo counter that literally reflects how much ammunition you have remaining. Oh, and did we mention it might be necessary to fire more than one proton torpedo in some of these missions?”

I haven’t played SWTOR, but of course I know many of you have. Does this sound like a welcome change? Or is it more of the same, only MOAR? Let us know.
