Take a look at the translation of the classic arcade hit Space Invaders to handheld game platforms in Space Invaders Extreme. The video review on ChannelFlip demonstrates the game played on the DS, but Taito has also released a PSP version.
Remakes can be a worrying thing, but every now and then you stumble across one that shows how well the developers have understood what made the original so truly great in the first place.
This is just what we are dealing with here.
Taito has revamped Space Invaders for the game’s 30th Anniversary, and the resulting Space Invaders Extreme, is glorious.
I’m playing the DS version here, and it’s also available on PSP. Definitely one that will stay firmly in your carry case!
