Take Two Confirms New Rockstar Game, Record Revenues
In a financial call yesterday, Take Two announced it had amassed record revenues in the last year, and that Rockstar is working on a new game for 2015.
Take Two pulled in a whopping $195.2 million in Q4, and $299.5 million year-over-year. The company’s full year net revenue was up 94% over last year, reaching a record $2.4 billion. Take Two also set out some sales figures for their most popular titles, including the following:
- Borderlands 2: 9 million units
- Civilization 5: 5 million units
- Bioshock Infinite: 6 million units
- Grand Theft Auto 5: 33 million units sold-in, and $1 billion in revenue
While most of the call was fairly standard, towards the end, gamers heard a bit of exciting news as the publisher confirmed that there is an unannounced Rockstar title for PS4 and Xbox One that is set to release before the end of this fiscal year. That means we’ll be seeing the next Rockstar title before the end of March 2015, barring any delays.
There’s absolutely no information on what that new Rockstar game might be, but since Agent was already announced, that should rule that one out. Let the speculation commence! Just as info, I think it’s a port of GTA 5, which will also hit PC.
