Take-Two vs. THQ: THQ Retaliates, Take-Two Apologizes

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently stated that THQ won’t be around in six months, disparaging the company’s business strategy. THQ isn’t taking the slight lying down and has issued a snide retort:

“Obviously, Mr. Zelnick’s perception of THQ is outdated and inaccurate. His comments are irresponsible and false. Perhaps he would be better off commenting on his own business.”

While THQ is justified in defending itself, the tone of the reply could no doubt have led to an escalation of conflict, but Zelnick was quick to reach for his fire extinguisher and issue an apology:

“While discussing our strategy I spoke out of turn about someone else’s. It was inappropriate and I regret it.”

Was Zelnick out of line with his comment?
