Team Fortress 2 Getting DLC Maps Next Year

teamfortress2.jpg

In news that should surprise absolutely no one, Valve has revealed that they are currently working on new maps for the popular online shooter, Team Fortress 2. The maps are currently being tested and will be released on PC sometime next year as downloadable content. In addition to this news, Xbox 360 owners will soon be receiving a patch for The Orange Box which “fixes several game-play exploits, improves bandwidth usage, improves stats reporting, and fixes some menu bugs.” As much fun as TF2 is, the maps do tend to get a little old at times, since they’re all pretty similar. Hopefully Valve has taken this into consideration when designing these new maps.

For the PC. Almost definately.

For the 360 and PS3… Maybe. Just maybe.

This is something that’s desperately needed. I really enjoyed TF2, but the maps are just too sparse to keep players interested for long sessions.

They keep me plenty interested. While some would argue the opposite, I actually think the fact that each is tailored to a certain game mode helps, because they just work so damn well for what they’re supposed to do.
