Telltale Set to Unveil the Second Season of The Walking Dead Game

Get ready to get ready. And while you’re doing that, cut your long hair, hippie. It’s much too easy for zombies to grab.

Telltale Games has taken to Twitter to tease a big announcement about the second season of its award-winning Walking Dead game:

We’ll find out for sure what’s up tomorrow (October 29) at noon Pacific, 3 p.m. Eastern, but based on the pic and the quote, it appears very much like we’ll be stepping into the kid-sized shoes of Clementine.

Here’s the few other tidbits we’ve picked up over the past year about The Walking Dead Season 2: Telltale stated it would try to import The Walking Dead Season 1 saves to Season 2, so the decisions we made in the original could impact the sequel. And while the first season was based on the events of the comic book series, CEO Dan Connors says that the characters from the AMC TV series could cross over and make their way into The Walking Dead game.

The Walking Dead: Season 2 — The Adventures of Daryl and Clem? Yeah, I’d play that.

5 Comments on Telltale Set to Unveil the Second Season of The Walking Dead Game

I cannot wait. The first season was brilliant and I really enjoyed the first episode of The Wolf Among Us. I’ve played most of the Telltale games that are on current-gen consoles (Wallace and Gromit, Back to the Future, Monkey Island, Sam and Max etc) and will play the other ones like Jurassic Park and Strongbad’s in due course. Even the crappy CSI games are probably worth a look if for no other reason than easy achievements.

I’m excited!

But will wait until all 5 episodes come out because the ending might suck….

That’s a fair stance to take. I waited until the last episode of season 1 since I was skeptical of whether the overwhelmingly positive response to the game would continue.

Argh!! My feels are already starting to act up at the thought of it.

Though I’m in the same boat as the other commentors and I’ll hold off till all five episodes are released.

I think the game was more enjoyable for me to play in one fifteen hour chunk in a weekend rather than waiting for weeks/months to experience another few hours of the game.

I agree with other comments suggesting it’s probably better to wait for the whole thing, as I did with the first game. Did the same with Breaking Bad, I waited till it had finished then watched the whole thing from the start. Conversely, I’m playing The Wolf Among Us per each episode’s availability which runs the risk of making me lose investment or forget parts of the story by the time the next episode is released. I guess as long as you’re playing these great games then it doesn’t matter too much how you do it.
