Terraria — AKA 2d Minecraft

For those of you who always wanted Minecraft’s gameplay without its glorious, cutting edge 3d graphics that weigh heavy on your poor processor, Terraria is the game for you.

In short, Terraria is Minecraft, but in the form of a 2d platformer. Terraria blends attributes from various genres like action, adventure, and RPG, and, of course, the ability to sculpt your world.

In development since January 2011, the game will feature multiplayer and PvP game modes.

Watch the Terraria gameplay trailer:

Terraria will be released in “less than a few months,” which is more than a couple months, on PC for Windows. The possibility of an iOS and/or Xbox version exists. Read more at the game’s homepage.

@Aids, You’re the retarded one for saying Minecraft sucks ass. Minecraft is more for people who wish to build and be creative, Terraria is for people who prefer combat and exploration, but has some of the aspects of minecraft.

I think you should really change the headline.

Calling terraria 2D Minecraft makse some minecraft fanboys rage and they are calling terraria a rip off, tought terraria is way more complex and if you actually saw the gameplay way different.

i think this game is rather boring on your own, but yeh so is minecraft ^^ sorry for the comparing. i’d love this game, the aspect of different 2d worlds and getting people to live in your houses and actually get money off them is amazing imagine that on Minecraft lol random NPC’s spawning with quests and .
anyways i think this game very rewarding towards your character as you can also lvl it up kind of / get good gear / have loads of items.
Thumbs up for Terraria!

I see nothing wrong with calling terraria a minecraft ripoff. It really is, just ask the developers. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be a good game.
Also, stop the fanboy movement. It’s really just makes people sigh.

im thinking of buyin this game but first thought what the headline says a 2d minecraft game but after looking in to it the amount of changes and game engine used you cant compare the two different types of gaming both have the own style and if anything i think minecraft should look into what tarraria have done with there game style and take notes

plus you dnt need a amazing computer

Terraria is very different to minecraft for these reasons
1) More adventuring
2) More (interesting) biomes -corruption for example
3) Boss Fights
3) More Items, mobs, gear -rocket boots for example
4) Lots more content to be added -see terraria devblog
5) No lag (on singleplayer)
I would rate it 4.5/5
However I do have a soft spot for some minecraft
@aids Cod Player by any chance? Lol umad dude?

If you’re comparing terraria to minecraft, then your face is obviously in the gutter. They are NOTHING alike.
