Terraria Console Editions Receive Huge New Update
The console versions of Terraria have been updated with new weather effects, items and more.
The update, which was announced and made available today for free, will bring a bevy of improvements to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game. These upgrades will include a number of smaller big fixes as well as larger additions such as brighter days and darker nights, diverse weather effect and more than a 1000 new items. These stand alongside new enemies, bosses, NPCs, pets and a slew of changes to currently existing tools and weapons to alter the way they work.
“We believe this massive content update opens up a new world of possibilities for Terrarians and we are delighted to be bringing this content to passionate Terraria fans who are experiencing the universe on consoles and handheld devices,” said 505 Games’ senior brand manager Richard Gittins. “The passion expressed by Terraria’s community has fueled our ambitions to do justice for the original PC content, and with the delivery of this update, there really has never been a better time to get into Terraria and discover its delights.”
Terraria was originally released to PC in 2011 and earned almost immediate success for its gameplay which coupled 2D platforming with sandbox adventure and world crafting. Since its launch, the PC game has been privy to a number of updates and improvements. This new patch, in turn, will help to bring the console editions more on par with the current version PC gamers enjoy. The full list of the update’s additions and changes can be found in patch notes released by the 505 Games.
