Test Season 2 of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft Delayed

The second hand of Blizzard’s clock ticks time slower than most. The latest example of its measured approach to game development: Test Season 2 of the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft closed beta has been delayed.

In a post on the official Hearthstone forums, Blizzard notes that it discovered some server issues when it first attempted to transition to the second season of ranked play for the CCG. So if you were anticipating starting fresh today, well, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. Blizzard doesn’t have an estimated time frame for the delay, only stating “Test Season 1 will continue until further notice.”

The Test Season 2 delay follows the previous delay of the Hearthstone open beta, which was originally set to begin in December. Blizzard now says the candy corn-addictive CCG will open to all sometime after January 7.

When Hearthstone finally does open its gates, I highly recommend you take it for a spin. Even if you’re not a CCG fan, it’s terrific fun. Game Front’s own StarCraft 2 pro, Ryan “State” Visbeck, goes so far as to say Hearthstone is poised to become the next big eSport.
