Tetris Party and The Incredible Maze Added to WiiWare
Tetris DS is difficult to come across and fetches a fair penny on eBay for a DS game that saw a U.S. release, but if you’ve got a Wii, one of today’s new WiiWare releases should be more than enough of a sufficient Tetris fix. Tetris Party (1,200 Wii Points) includes 10 “never-before-seen single-player and multiplayer versions of Tetris,” including some that require you to use the Wii Balance Board to play. That might be more of a hindrance than anything else, but the main highlight is undoubtedly the ability to play online with up to five other people.
This week’s other new releases are The Incredible Maze (500 points), where you play by tilting the Wiimote to move your way through mazes, and a pair of TurboGrafx 16 imports: Digital Champ Battle Boxing (700 points) and Gradius II Gofer No Yabou (900 points). There’s not a whole to explain about either game, as you likely know what to expect from a Gradius title, and the only unique feature of Battle Boxing is its first-person perspective.
It’s not a particularly flashy week, but Tetris Party seems like a solid release and for some, The Incredible Maze’s price should be just about right to warrant a purchase.
