The Art of Bioshock Infinite Coming In February
I might be skeptical about BioShock Infinite – yep, I’m terrified it’s going to be ruined by unnecessary multiplayer – but regardless of how the final game turns out, it is absolutely guaranteed to be gorgeous. Screenshots that have trickled out since the game was announced last year have been astonishing, including the image up top that absolutely nails the kind of trying-too-hard empire-worship that America practically exuded in the years between the Spanish-American War and World War One. And the videos have been equally impressive, demonstrating a beautifully crafted world that works aesthetically and satirically, not an easy thing to pull off.
That’s why I’m extremely excited about the news that BioShock Infinite is getting an official The Art Of book. The Art of BioShock Infinite will be a spiffy hardcover release from Darkhorse comics, and will show off production and concept art, as well as character art for the games primary characters and a look at how the Heavy Hitters were developed. According to Amazon it’ll cost $39.99, but you can preorder it now for $26.99. It’ll be in stores February 27th.
