The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Gets First DLC
A prequel to a prequel. If 2K Games keeps this up, the XCOM team will be fighting Sectoids and Beserkers in the Victorian Era.
Which actually sounds kind of awesome.
But I digress. 2K has revealed the first DLC pack for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. It’s called Hangar 6 R&D, and it takes place before the events portrayed in the core game. It also makes for one hell of a long full name: The Bureau: XCOM Declassified — Hangar 6 R&D.
In a post on the official 2K Games Blog, lead developer Harley White-Wiedow provided a rundown on what’s going on in Hangar 6:
Hangar 6 R&D takes place shortly before Agent Carter’s adventures in the main game, right before the large-scale alien invasion begins. Players will learn that during this time, Agent DaSilva had volunteered for a series of psychic experiments at an undisclosed location known by The Bureau as simply “Hangar 6.” In this DLC, players will take control of Agent DaSilva, and his squad, as they are treated with an elerium-based compound gas in order to visualize and combat the mental defenses of another agent infected with the “Sleepwalker” pathogen.
Mmm, elerium-based gas.
New characters, new powers, new weapons, and new perks are all included, and White-Wiedow noted that 2K has also upped the difficulty level in Hangar 6. (Hopefully, they’ve also upped the XCOM fun.) It can all be yours on the Xbox 360 on October 8 for $5. Xbox gamers get the DLC first, and there is no word yet when (or if) it will hit PlayStation 3 or PC.
