The Evil Within Delayed Until October

he Evil Within will be releasing in North America on October 21st.

The new launch date was revealed this morning in a n announcement from the game’s publishers at Bethesda. According to the company, this American release will be followed up shortly by Australian and European launches on October 23rd and October 24th, respectively. This, of course, will delay the game from an August release window made public back in February. According to Bethesda, the game is being pushed back to guarantee its final quality.

“Shinji Mikami and his team at Tango Gameworks have asked for additional time to further balance and refine the game in order to deliver the polished, terrifying pure survival horror experience they set out to create,” said Bethesda’s Erin Losi, in a statement.

In addition the game’s delay, Bethesda also unveiled new pre-order incentives for the game. Gamers who buy The Evil Within in advance will be privy to The Fighting Chance Pack which will give them “a handful of additional items that may help them stave off death for a moment longer.” The pack will include a Medical Kit, Green Gel to upgrade the protagonist’s attributes and special Incendiary and Poison bolts players can use in combat. These items can be seen in more detail in a recently released trailer highlight both The Fighting Chance Pack and the new release dates.
