The Last of Us Gets a Release Date, New Trailer

Naughty Dog’s upcoming fungus zombie action story The Last of Us will hit shelves on May 7, 2013. Mark your calendars.

Despite Sony’s comments to the contrary, it seems Walmart’s leaked release date was correct. The official date for May was released during the Spike TV Video Game Awards last weekend, and came with a new trailer as well.

Sony has released a second, all-new trailer since the VGAs, however, and it’s embedded below. The article accompanying the trailer says it’s as “spoiler-free as possible,” so it might not give you much in the way of details. It is slick-looking, however.

We also know that Sony and Naughty Dog will be offering the Sights and Sounds pack as a pre-order bonus from participating retailers. It’ll include the following:

  • The official soundtrack of the game
  • A PS3 dynamic theme featuring the cover art
  • Two avatars for your PSN profile – Winter Joel and Winter Ellie

Who cares. Sony exclusives dont add up to a shovel full of bat ( well, you know the rest, besides, they’ld just bleep me out anyway). Give me a game on all systems and I might start to care.

Yeah, it kinda sucks that I can’t play this, since it’s PS3 exclusive. I would love to play it cuz it looks like a great game.
