The Minecraft Adventure Update Will be Playable at PAX
According to a tweet by Swedish creator Markus “Notch” Persson, the Minecraft Adventure Update will be playable in the Mojang booth at PAX Prime this August.
Out of the 40+ features intended to be included in the update, here are a few of the ones that have been revealed thus far:
- NPC villages
- Randomly generated dungeons
- New biome code
- Fully working Creative Mode (and individual admins can enter Creative Mode on a Survival Mode server if they choose)
- Critical hits
- Sprinting
- More farming options
Critical hits? NPC villages? Randomly generated dungeons? Is Notch trying to add Diablo 2 elements to Minecraft? If so, I say bring it on!

Playing Terraria really lets you know that Minecraft is missing something. Hopefully this update will do the trick.
