The Old Republic’s Starfighter Expansion Now Available to All

Starting today, all players of Star Wars: The Old Republic can join in on the 12v12 PvP battles of the game’s Galactic Starfighter expansion.

Back in early December, Bioware launched The Old Republic’s Galactic Starfighter expansion for subscribers only. Today, the two month early access period ends as they throw the doors open to all players.

They’re also adding some new content to celebrate the free-to-play launch of the expansion. Everyone who joins will get access to two pilot suits for customizing their character, as well as getting to check out the other new features, which include:

  • New Gameplay Mode: Team Deathmatch: Just like it sounds, you kill other players to win!
  • New Starfighter Role: The Bomber: A defensive ship type that features the strongest hull, proximity mines, and automated drones.
  • New Tactical Flashpoint: Kuat Drive Yards: A level 15+ Flashpoint that drops you into “a highly contested orbital shipyard with one of the most prolific warship manufacturing facilities in the galaxy.”

It’s been well over a year since The Old Republic went free-to-play, and apparently Bioware’s proclamations of success are holding true so far.

Now to see if we get to bullseye some womp rats in this expansion.
