The Secret World’s Creepy Setting is Creepy – and Haunted (TRAILER)

The Secret World is a screwed up place. It’s an MMO, but it’s set here — our Earth, our time. But something is horribly wrong, as you can see from the trailer below, which details the game’s setting.

Though usually not much for MMOs, I must say I’m intrigued by The Secret World’s mix of elements from Silent Hill, Resident Evil 4, Alan Wake and other horror and thriller classics, and our Ben Richardson got a ton of info about the game at GDC 2011 earlier this year. The whole thing looks like a super-creep Stephen King world, and that sounds like exactly the kind of game I want to play. Plus everybody wanders around the game with shotguns and M16s, encountering monsters that used to be people and now are more akin to Necromorphs.

Actually, this sounds a lot like that recurring dream I’ve been having. Sign me up.

Awesomely creepy and fun-looking trailer. I love the premise. Looks like it could be adaptable for the big screen too.
