The Speedy Stryder Sprints Into Titanfall
Titanfall designer Respawn Entertainment recently introduced us to fictional Titan manufacturer Hammond Robotics and the company’s lumbering, heavy-duty model, the Ogre. Hammond is back with a new product pitch today, introducing the Ogre’s light and agile opposite, the Stryder.
Yeah, that’s more my speed. When guarding an objective, I imagine the Ogre will be the go-to class of Titan, but sprinting around the map in a Stryder looks like my cup of mech-flavored tea. See how the Stryder performs for yourself in the trailer below:
If, like me, you saw this trailer and instantly thought of the “Upcoming live-fire beta tests” teased in early December via the viral Hammond Robotics phone bank (1-888-88TITAN), the news is there is no news. The same recorded message played when I called the number just now, so the Titanfall beta remains a tease at this point. If I was a betting man, I’d pencil in not so much a beta as a server stress test for February, a month ahead Titanfall’s March 11 launch on PC and Xbox One.
