The omniscient narrator of The Stanley Parable does not tolerate cheating, and you can see the serious results for yourself with a few simple steps.

Activating the developer console in Steam is a breeze, if you know what to do, but there’s one well-known cheat activation command that most Source engine games share. Stanley’s narrator doesn’t approve. See a special secret ending by following the instructions below.

Use Console Commands for a “Serious” Ending

1. Right-click The Stanley Parable shortcut icon
2. Select Properties
3. Type “-dev -console” under Set Launch Options
4. Start a new game.
5. Press “~” to lower the console window.
6. Type “sv_cheats 1
7. Enjoy your secret ending. The narrator will not happy with you.
