Zampella: The Titanfall Beta Will Not Be Open

Titanfall‘s beta is coming soon, but whatever the event contains will not be open to everyone.

According to Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella, beta access will require a code. There were never any confirmed reports of the Titanfall beta being open to everyone, so there doesn’t appear to be any contradiction going on. Some of the “open” confusion could stem from this tweet from Respawn’s Community Manager, Abbie Heppe, but the “everyone” in that tweet means everyone has a shot at joining the beta, not guaranteed access. Regardless, it does mean Titans won’t be falling for everyone this month (assuming the beta happens this month).

Zampella also went on to say that codes are going to happen in waves, so those who do gain beta access won’t all be trying to register and play at the exact same time.

In other beta news, it has to be happening soon. Titanfall‘s release date is right around the corner, of course, but also because Respawn has officially submitted a build to the powers at be for certification.

We’ve yet to receive any official word on when the beta is, although earlier reports indicate it could be the weekend of February 14th. As soon as we get word down from EA high, you’ll be the first to know.
