On the Way to Savannah

  1. After all of the death in that last part, you’ll have a conversation with Chuck about how you need to train Clem to take care of herself. After you talk, move the cursor on the cab door behind you to go through it.
  2. Try to console Kenny, then head through the opposite cab door. Talk to Ben if you want, then head into the boxcar. Pick up the whiskey and take the scissors in Chuck’s bag.
  3. Head back to Chuck and give him the whiskey. After you tell him you also found the scissors, head back to Clem. Tell her that she needs to protect herself and then help teach her to fire a gun. After you set up the glass bottle, you’ll have to guide Clem’s shot. Look for the trail of smoke, then adjust her position accordingly so she hits the bottle.
  4. After you help her break three bottles, talk to her again and convince her that you need to cut her hair. Assure her through the process to put her at ease.
  5. Head back to the cab. Talk to Kenny and tell him that Chuck wanted to know if he needed a drink. After he gets up to go get some, reach for the map in the bin in front of where he was sitting. Go talk to Chuck and tell him you got the map.
  6. Make your way back to the boxcar again. Ben will stop and tell you something, which will give you the option to make several decisions in how you respond. After your talk, head into the boxcar.
  7. Talk to Clem about making a plan when you arrive at Savannah. She’ll want to look for her parents, so you’ll have to decide if you are going to help her or not. Following your conversation, the train will some to a stop and you’ll earn an ACHIEVEMENT.

I’m on #6 and after I push Clem over, I back up but for some reason I can’t pick up the tool, I just keep looking at it then I get killed. I’m using a mouse and I can’t seem to figure out how to use it for this part since on screen only gives me controller instructions. Can anyone advise what to hit using mouse and keyboard??

@TWDgamefan: If you’re referring to the part in the train station, you need to move the cursor right over the tool that is wedging the door open. Once it’s over the tool, the little hand icon should appear and then you need to quickly press the corresponding button to pick it up. I played this game on PS3, so I’m not exactly what the controls would be for PC. I hope this helps.

Your walkthrough says to use the spike remover and press X.. .I got the spike remover, there was no option for X at all, but there was for B, however it didn’t even work. It says he needs to break it open first. Other than that the walkthrough has been fine, but you should fix that, as it’s totally wrong.

You forgot a step. After starting the train you need to return to the cab and try t ostart to train to loosen the “rust and what not” before you can use the spike remover.

@Charlie, although this is rather a long time later – on PC, at least, you can avoid getting into a fight with Kenny by showing him the rag with his son’s blood on it and being sympathetic/diplomatic. I don’t know how the more confrontational speech options work out, but it does seem like the key factor here is showing him the rag.

This doesn’t affect the end of this part, though. :(
