The Walking Dead: Season 2 Gets Xbox Live Release Date

The Walking Dead: Season 2′s first episode is entitled All That Remains, and it will hit Xbox Live on December 18.

That’s according to Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, who notes that 360 gamers will be able to pick up Episode 1 for $5.

Last week, Steam outed The Walking Dead: Season 2′s release date for PC as December 17, but even after today’s post by Major Nelson, we’ve yet to hear from Telltale Games. Seems odd, but given that Xbox and Steam have both made announcements, it seems legit. Still no word on the PlayStation Store release date, but it’s a safe bet it will also be the 18th.

It’s also worth noting that, on PC and Mac, players will not be able to purchase individual $5 episodes of The Walking Dead: Season 2 (something I just discovered while checking out Telltale’s Walking Dead FAQ). You must purchase the entire $25 complete season, so if you’re planning on stepping into Clem’s shoes, you should consider saving 10% by pre-purchasing now on Steam or directly through Telltale.

Telltale has gotten kind of strange when it comes to differences in releases across platforms. The Wolf Among Us saw a delayed release of the season pass on PS3 even though the first episode was out. Now you have to fully commit to a season if you’re on PC. It’s no wonder that I see lots of confusion on their forums.
