The Week in Demos and Patches: March 16-22
Easter is upon us, and if you are too old to participate in an Easter Egg Hunt, don’t feel like sitting around with a bunch of relatives intent on gorging themselves gaseous on ham and potato salad – or if you just want to hide in your room so that the Eater Bunny’s point, pointy teeth won’t rip your jugular out, try out some demos instead. We actually got some pretty good ones this week and a couple that sound interesting to say the least:
- Sins of a Solar Empire: This 90 minute demo includes 4 tutorials, 2 small maps with support for up to two AI players, and one randomly generated medium size map with support for up to three AI players.
- The Graveyard: Tale of Tales have released a very short game entitled The Graveyard. In The Graveyard you play an elderly woman who visits a cemetery. As usual, with the work of designers Auriea Harvey and Michael Samyn, there is no explicit goal to be achieved, or rewards to be collected. The Graveyard is more like an explorable painting than an actual game. A trial version of the game is available for free. The full version can be purchased for 5 USD. The only difference between the two is that in the full version, the lady may die. (Also available for the Mac)
- Light of Dreams: The Angelical Blade:This is the demo version V2.09 of Lights of Dreams: The Angelical Blade… It is free to play. Play as Xylvan to find a way to save the future Earth of 3800, Walk, Run, Jump Fly in 50(3 available in the demo) flowers and grass vasts inspirationnal worlds to find 10 Spheres, 11 Parchements and 10 uniques Elements and more than 20 unique items to accomplish your mission. This version provides more lifelike effects, including potion, magic, regeneration and mass attack.
