The Witcher 3 Dev Doesn’t Believe in Nickel and Diming for DLC

CD Projekt RED have never been fans of paid DLC, preferring instead to release the content they develop for free to players. Today, Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has discussed why the company simply doesn’t believe in selling add-on content for games either at or after launch. This applies to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

“We could sell extra content to gamers ‘down the road,’ but we don’t believe in that,” said Tomaskiewicz in a short interview with the Examiner.

“We believe patches, fixes and additional content should be provided to gamers free of charge. Only something REALLY big, and something that will not make you feel ripped off, justifies a price tag.”

Should the studio ever decide to release paid DLC, Tomaskiewicz assures the following: “We think you will appreciate what you get in return.”

Only time will tell whether CD Projekt RED goes down that road.

This is one of the many things that I like about CDPR. When I see things like costume DLC, I always think to myself, “A few years ago those were unlockable in the the game.”

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz wakes up every morning and says “what can I say to cause gamers to fap”

Then he calls up a gaming website and says something.
