The Witcher Fanfic Winners Crowned

people_azar_javed.pngA short while before the release of The Witcher last year, CDProjekt – the game‘s developer – solicited fans of the game, its setting and characters to submit short story entries based on the world of the Witcher. These stories were then judged by the staff of the developer and finally three winners were identified. The three writers will be given copies of “The Last Wish”, one of the Witcher series of novels by polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.

The three winning stories were written by forum members and are available to read in English on the website’s fan fiction section. The stories were: “The May Queen’s Curse” by Corvinus, “Hunger” by Vinvalis and “Chaining a Hawk” by Rhian.

The May Queen’s Curse” is a tale of a Witcher called Thorn and his encounter with a curse and the dark secrets its holder bears.

Hungerfeatures the game’s protagonist Geralt and his encounter with a creature that feeds on fear.

Chaining a Hawk” is the story of the Professor and Azar Javed, two of the games key villains explaining how their partnership came to be and giving some slight insight into the working of the Salamandra.

There are more fan created stories that didn’t win as well on the website that are mostly a good read for fans of the game thirsting for more adventures in the world of Geralt.
