The Witcher Series Sold >5M Copies; Both Games 50% Off

The Witcher series has sold over five million copies, and to celebrate this success as well as the recent announcement of The Witcher 3, CD Projekt RED is selling the first two installments for 50% off until Feb. 8.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition for Xbox 360 is discounted to $29.99, and The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition are on sale for 50% off at GOG.com and Steam until the sale ends.

Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD PROJEKT SA group, stated that the console release was a major factor in reaching that 5M milestone. He said:

“The Witcher 3 will be a crowning achievement for the RPG genre, but I am also proud to announce that the number of previous Witcher games sold has surpassed 5 million copies. This is great news, especially since the 2012 debuted console debut on the Xbox 360 contributed largely to this result, receiving great feedback from gamers and critics. The Witcher 2 is already a classic RPG, so if you haven’t played it yet be sure to enhance your role-playing collection and experience an unique gaming adventure.”

If you know a friend who hasn’t played The Witcher, then this is a great time to gift it to them on Steam. $5 for The Witcher, and $10 for The Witcher 2? You can’t go wrong.
