The Wolf Among Us Episode 2 Hits PC, PS3 Tuesday
The next installment of Telltale Games’ The Wolf Among Us is set for release on Tuesday, Feb. 4, for PC, Mac and Playstation 3 players in the U.S., and Wednesday, Feb. 5, for European PS3 owners and Xbox 360 players.
Telltale made the announcement on Twitter, keeping with its customary fashion of giving only a few days’ notice for its exact release dates. It’s been a long wait for fans of the series, however — Telltale first launched the game, based on the “Fables” comic series by Bill Willingham, in October to lots of positive reviews at the time.
Earlier last month, Telltale’s Kevin Bruner stated in a forum post that the lengthy delay between episodes for The Wolf Among Us wouldn’t be the norm.
“We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays),” Bruner wrote in the post. “I won’t dive into the details, but it’s been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season.”
It’s worth keeping in mind that Telltale currently has four games (or series, as one might refer to their episodic nature) announced, with The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead: Season 2 in active development. The other two, Tales from the Borderlands and a series based on the HBO series “Game of Thrones” (not the book series known as A Song of Ice and Fire, mind), don’t have firm release dates, but that does seem to be a lot on the plate. Given Telltale’s heavy attention to story and artwork, it doesn’t seem too far a stretch to think there’s potential for more delay in Telltale’s current series.
