This Browser Game Shows You What It’s Like to Be Me
I never, ever complain about my life. Ever. It hasn’t happened before, and it doesn’t happen now and it won’t happen in the future. I have an amazing job and awesome friends. I have very little money, live in an annoying city and have mounds of debt, but I have a roomy apartment, a nice TV and three game consoles, so I have nothing to complain about.
That said, there’s a reason why I don’t have a pet or a few children and have no plans to have anything resembling those things any time soon. Those things cost way too much money, and having kids would take away from my JRPG time.
Anyway, some people in Durham who like to help people make a browser-based game about what it’s like to live in our nation’s lowest tax brackets. Most of the time, it’s pretty fun down here, and we love a good party, but when things go wrong, they really, really go wrong. And that’s what this game, Spent, is about. It wants to show all the middle-class folks in the world what it’s like to be poor and why they should donate things. And you should donate things, jerk. Play the game.
