THQ: Warhammer: Dark Millennium Online Playable at E3 Next Year
I don’t know about you, but I love me some Warhammer. So, last year when I was at E3 and saw a little bit of Warhammer: Dark Millennium Online, I was understandably intrigued. I was hoping that our E3 team would be able to bring home lots more information about it this year. Unfortunately, it looks like we’re still a year away from getting our hands on Vigil Games’ upcoming MMO.
THQ’s Danny Bilson told Eurogamer that the game will be playable, “Next year, I promise you, next E3.” He also praised work on the game, saying,
We have the new build. I was playing because the Games Workshop guys are in town. We took them through a little tour through a zone and some of the instances.
It looks fabulous. I like it. I can’t speak to it now, or people will kill me. But, I’ll tell you what, it plays differently. A little bit.
I’m a big MMO guy. I’ve played EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, WOW, City of Heroes… I’ve sampled a lot of them. I love MMOs. This thing is gonna be special.
He also said that Dark Millennium Online would launch sometime during THQ’s next fiscal year, meaning we can look for it anytime between April 2012 and March 2013. I’d lean toward the later part of that year, especially if the first time we get to play it is next year’s E3.
Still, the time frame doesn’t dampen my enthusiasm in the slightest. It should give me time to squeeze every last drop out of RIFT before DMO arrives.
